The piece is harmonically very rich, making use of modal borrowings and chromatic passages, and calls for a softer, velvety touch, bringing a melancholic tone. It is one of the most beautiful choros for guitar in Brazilian music.

Choro Pro Zé é uma composição de Guinga, um dos maiores compositores vivos do violão brasileiro. Ela explora a tonalidade de dó menor, iniciando com uma escala de tons inteiros. A peça é harmonicamente muito rica, fazendo uso de empréstimos modais e passagens cromáticas, e pede por um toque mais macio e aveludado, trazendo um tom melancólico. É um dos mais belos choros para violão na música brasileira
